University Of Michigan Material Transfer Agreement

Regulates the transfer of material from U-M to another organization. Our general requirement for basic education must be met at UM-Flint. Students who do not complete the entire MTA will receive a display course of their transfer credit, which may require additional UM Flint general education courses. The MTA is a great opportunity for students to take a group of core university courses at a lower level, knowing that they will apply and apply to many of Michigan`s four-year institutions. If properly administered, students can work on their MTA courses while they strive to meet other graduation requirements at their eventual institution. It is important to note that the MTA is not the most suitable for all programs. There are many programs throughout the state for which the MTA is not well suited. Students are encouraged to work with their counsellors to choose a path that works best for them. Students who move from a Michigan institution with a completed MTA have met much of their UM-Flint general education requirements. Students who plan to travel to UM-Dearborn should inquire with their Community College about the courses allowed to enter the MTA categories mentioned above and to know the details of obtaining an MTA confirmation on their transcript. During the course planning and selection process at Community College, students are encouraged to refer to UM Dearborn Transfer Guides to determine which MTA courses best fit their program.
